Collection and product copy
Collection and category pages with copy that helps someone choose, and product descriptions written from your own product data in one consistent voice. For Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce stores.
$1,200 for 5 collections + 20 products · 4 collections or 16 products = 1 slot
Book an editorial reviewBuy a copy pack, $1,200Manufacturer descriptions are on every store that stocks the product, so they do nothing for yours. Collection pages are often worse: a grid of photos and not a word on which one to pick. Our product description writing works from the data you send, a short voice style sheet we agree first, and one rule: if the spec sheet doesn't say it, neither do we. AI tools may help with the first pass on a large catalog. A person writes the final version and checks it against your data.
A voice style sheet, agreed before we write
Two pages that settle the arguments in advance. Here's part of one.
- Voice
- Plain and warm, second person. The person behind the counter, not the catalog.
- Open with
- What it's for, in one sentence. Materials come second.
- Units
- Inches and ounces, metric in brackets.
- Length
- Products 120–180 words. Collections 300–500.
- Shape
- An opening line, three spec bullets, one line on care.
- Never
- "Premium", "high-quality", "must-have", "elevate".
- Claims
- Only what the spec sheet says. "Dishwasher safe" needs the manufacturer to say it first.
- Titles
- Product name, then the one spec people filter by: "10-inch carbon steel skillet, pre-seasoned".
Sample, no client data. A made-up kitchenware store.
When a product is discontinued
We decide page by page:
Replaced by a close successor
301 to the new product, and mention the change on its page.
Gone for good, but the page still gets visits or links
Keep it live as unavailable and point to the nearest alternatives. If nothing is close, redirect to the collection.
Seasonal, and coming back
Keep it live and mark it out of stock. Redirecting and un-redirecting every year helps nobody.
Gone, with no visits and no links
Remove it and take it out of the sitemap.
What we won't do is send every dead product to the home page.

Questions people ask
How many pages does $1,200 buy?
$1,200 for five collection pages (300–500 words each) and twenty product descriptions (up to 200 words each), plus the style sheet and a title and meta for all 25. In a plan, 4 collections or 16 products take one slot.
How long from kickoff to copy in the store?
10 business days after we receive your product data.
Who owns the finished copy once it's delivered?
The descriptions are written for your store and aren't reused anywhere else. They go straight into Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce, and the style sheet lives in your shared drive, so a new copywriter or your own team can keep writing in the same voice.
Will you write buying guides, or shoot the products?
Buying guides and how-to posts are SEO articles. Cleaning out dead seasonal pages is Content refresh. Seeing which collections bring in revenue from search is Content measurement. Photography, feeds and ads aren't things we do.
What product data should we send?
A product feed or spreadsheet (titles, specs, materials, sizes, whatever the manufacturer gave you) and staff or collaborator access to Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce. Never your owner password.
Which collections sell the most?
Start with those. Book the review and we'll pick the first five with you.
