What one slot buys

One slot is one unit of publishing work, done start to finish: the brief, writing or rewriting, editing, an originality check, on-page SEO, internal links in and out, images sourced or simple graphics made, upload to your CMS, and a line in the change log.

New article, up to 1,800 words1
Pillar guide, 1,800–3,500 words2
Expert-interview article (a 45-minute interview, then the article)1½
Refresh of an existing page (up to about half rewritten, sources and links updated, an honest new date)½
Merge 2–3 overlapping posts into one, with the redirect map1
Service or location page, up to 1,000 words½
4 collection or category pages, up to 500 words each1
16 product descriptions, up to 200 words each1
Newsletter edition built from pieces already published½

Unused slots roll over for one month, then expire.

Need more in a busy month? Extra slots cost your plan's per-slot rate.

Mix freely within a month: two articles and four refreshes, or one pillar guide and two location pages.

The calendar shows the next 30 days' mix, so nothing arrives unannounced.

CMS upload covers WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and HubSpot with editor access. Other platforms are quoted.

Not in a slot: custom illustration, photography, video, and design work in your CMS.

One possible month on Cadence 8: 3 new articles (3 slots), 4 refreshes (2), one merge (1), 4 location pages (2). Total: 8.

How billing and terms work

Plans are invoiced monthly, in advance. Pay by bank transfer or ACH, or by card through a Stripe-hosted invoice link. We never store a card or charge one automatically.

Invoices are due within 14 days.

The first 3 months are the initial term. Month 1 is mostly the map and calendar, so a quarter is the shortest stretch in which a plan shows what it does.

After that, it's month to month. Cancel with 30 days' written notice.

If you stop during the first 3 months, the rest of that term is still payable unless we agree otherwise in writing.

After the first quarter you can pause for one month in any 12. Your slots freeze and nothing is invoiced for that month.

Moving up or down a tier? Tell us before the next invoice and it applies from that month.

No setup fees. We don't pass on the cost of the tools we use.

Prices are in USD and exclude sales tax. We add it only where the law requires it.

Copyright in everything we deliver passes to you once it's paid for. Your CMS, Search Console, GA4 and dashboard stay in your name.

The full terms are in our Terms of Service and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Monthly services without a plan

For when you want one kind of work done regularly, not the whole desk. Invoiced monthly, like the plans.

One-off items

Pay today, by card or invoice, without a call. Each has its own page listing exactly what you get.

Content architecture, from $1,900, is quoted after a review.

If you buy the Content Decay Audit and start a Cadence plan within 30 days, $500 of the audit price comes off your first month's invoice.

By the hour

$125/hour

1-hour minimum, then billed in 30-minute steps. For consulting, CMS training, editorial-guideline workshops, and edits that don't fit in a slot.

Questions about pricing

What happens to slots we don't use?

They roll over to the next month, once. After that they expire. It keeps the calendar honest on both sides.

Can we spend slots on anything in the table?

Any mix you like, as long as it's on the calendar 30 days ahead. Work that isn't in the table, like custom illustration, is quoted or billed by the hour.

Why slots and not a word count?

The words are the cheap part. A slot includes the brief, the editing, the links, the upload and the log entry, which is where content programs usually fall apart.

How long do we have to sign up for?

Three months to start, then month to month with 30 days' notice. Month 1 is mostly planning, so anything shorter wouldn't show you much.

Can we buy one thing before deciding on a plan?

Yes. Everything on the desk can be bought without a call. If it's the decay audit and you start a plan within 30 days, $500 of it comes off your first month.

Do you add sales tax?

Prices exclude sales tax. We add it only where the law requires it, which depends on where your business is.

Do you guarantee rankings or traffic?

No. Search engines change their algorithms and policies regularly, and results depend on a lot of things outside our control — your market, your competitors, your budget, and your own site or offer included. We don't guarantee specific rankings, traffic, leads, conversions, or revenue.

Not sure which tier?

Bring a rough idea of what you'd want published in a month. We'll tell you which plan fits, or whether you need one at all.
